What’s ORIZZONTI?

ORIZZONTI is an artist-run organization which aims to organize various events involving contemporary jewellery under a central theme – to promote communication and dialogue between the artist and the audience. ‘ORIZZONTI’ means ‘horizons’ in Italian. The horizon is common panorama shared by all across the globe, inviting people to imagine the unknown that lies beyond. We aim to carry out these activities on a global scale with an international perspective, conscious always of ‘the world that we live in now’.

About Contemporary Jewellery

We see contemporary jewellery as a cross-discipline – a new field which has elements of many other fields such as Art, Craft, Design, Philosophy etc; and we define a piece of contemporary jewellery as a three-dimensional shape, with no constraints imposed on materials or form, or by marketing requirements; a shape that can clearly crystallise the artist’s concept because s/he controls the process of creation from start to finish. And the interesting part is that wearing jewellery connects people together – it’s a form of communication.
